CROHN'S DISEASE
Crohn's disease - (aka regional enteritis) Enteritis is usually limited to the terminal ileum but an progress to other segments of the intestine, characterized by nodule formation and fibrous tissue builup, abdominal pain, and patchy deep ulceration. Inflammation and possible ulceration of the digestive tract. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, anorexia, weight loss, gas, and abdominal tenderness. Bloody diarrhea may exist if there is bleeding in the intestine.
Calcium - 2 Tbl. PM
Copper - 1 tsp. PM
Gold - 1 to 2 tsp. PM
Iron - 1 tsp. AM and PM
Magnesium - 4 Tbl. AM
Manganese - 1 tsp. AM
Potassium - 1 Tbl. AM and PM
Sodium - Eat a lot of Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, celery, and turnips which are some of the best sources of bio-available sodium.
Sulfur - 2 Tbl. AM
Zinc - 2 Tbl. AM
Vitamin C - 2000mg daily
**Juices from cabbage and green leafy vegetables can be very beneficial, because the chlorophyll has healing properties. A good source of chlorophyll is fresh water algae like chlorella. Vegetable broths from the seaweeds wekame, hijiki, and kombu are also suggested by doctors. Until symptoms begin to greatly subside, refrain from high fiber diets as the fiber will irritate the inflammation. High fiber is beneficial, though, in preventing this condition.
